Sulpher Dioxide in Rasins

I like the jumbo raisins you find in the store that plump up when cook them, however I just started reading labels more carefully and noticed that they contain sulpher dioxide, probably as a preservative. I'm wondering if this is something I should stay away from.

Case in point, a long time ago I bought some freeze-dried bananas from the open bin at the grocery store. I ate them like a snack, probably a half bag.... then experienced severe stomach pain that prompted me to call the poison center. I was asked what I ate, and described the banana chips. Sulpher dioxide in the chips was the problem, I should only eaten a few. I threw out the bag and never again looked at another freeze dried banana chip. Now with the rasins, I've eaten these before in my oatmeal, just a handful and have not had any problems. Should I stop eating them?
