I am lactose intollerant and I don't have a problem taking the pill. Using the nuva ring and the patch will actually put more hormones in your system. They've done research that indicates that if someone takes the pill, it needs to go through the digestive tract so it looses some of its hormone strength NOT it's effectivenss. With the patch and ring the hormones get absorbed by a different method so there is more horemones in your body. This has been causing adverse effects in some people such as a much more higher risk of DVT - Deep Vein Thrombosis or blood clots in the legs. I think you might be better off going with the pill since hormone dosage is more controlled.
