I don't know what would go well with the Barium - but if you're IBS D make sure that it's a drink you regularly drink. Water, soy milk comes to mind. The Barium as I remember was quite chalky tasting. Anyway, if you have to, you can always plug your nose while swallowing (you won't taste it then.) Relax. Most of us have been through this, too. Getting tense will only make it worse. It's only a little test and it will be over before you know it. Plan for some type of treat for when the test is over - maybe not right after - you may not feel up to it. But promise yourself a shopping trip or a manicure or renting a movie or buy a book or something fluffy to make yourself feel good. Whatever you like. That way, you can think of it while you're going through the test. Please let us know how it goes. I know you'll be fine! We're your cheering section. Be brave and may the force be with you!
