Yes, Jack is whiskey; whiskey is bourbon. It's the BEST! Granted, the first sip is a bit "hot," as you say, but the next sip goes down sooooooooo well! Also, if you pour it over SHAVED ice, it gets watered down very quickly. When my tummy is a little rummbly and I'm feeling anxious about something, a little Jack -- I said "LITTLE" -- totally calms it down. He's my best friend!
