Are you psychic? OMG! You BET!

One of my biggest problems is entertaining. I dread it. I haven't entertained in YEARS, avoiding it at all cost. I'm an obsessive compulsive who doesn't think anything I do is good enough. It's ridiculous, because I don't judge others when I go to their homes, not in the least -- yet I expect absolute perfection of myself. Thus, I just don't entertain. Simple fix, right?

WRONG. I got "stuck" with an invitation I just had to extend. I want this friend to know I care for her and want to reciprocate her generosity; I had no choice but to invite her over, and she asked that she be invited just before Christmas so she could see my tree.

She's coming tonight.

Yesterday I spent the entire day cleaning, CLEANING, CLEANING! Hubby helped a lot. When I found myself cleaning all my copper pots and pans and polishing all my silver, I realized it was time to quit. Then I got out the holiday Yankee Candles and began melting them down for fragrance throughout the house. (I have to have everything just perfect!) Here's the final result:

I went to bed satisfied that I had done all I could. This morning I woke up to a very upset body, but it was totally the result of dreams. Yes, I have gone through the hypnosis program -- thank God!

I'm not freaking out -- not yet -- but I'll be downing Equalactin in no time. I have the mulled cider working as we speak, and now I'm about to make the mousse. The dinner itself will be a snap; I've made it a million times.

I hope future dinners with my friend will be easier and far more casual; I don't go through this as well as you guys do!

My biggest concern of all -- more so than the food -- is suffering an attack through it all -- not through the food or the ambience, but the stress in preparing it!
