After looking at the ingredient in Benefiber, I saw that it is hydrolyzed guar gum, and the last time I was at a health food chain--Wild Oats--I saw guar gum in a jar in the section with the herbs and spices. I'm wondering if this guar gum is the same as that in Benefiber, which is quite expensive. I'm sorry that I didn't notice the price on the guar gum at Wild Oats, but it will probably be less pricey.

On second thought, there might be a company where you could order guar gum--maybe that supplies ingredients for the food industry. I guess the issue that we need to settle is if the 'hydrolyzed' is important or not. Does anyone know what 'hydrolyzed' means?
