So you have to eat safely for both diets. You can't just start eating gluten free and abandon the IBS diet if you have IBS too.
Does the doc think you have both? Maybe it's too early to tell. For now, I'd just eat as if you have both. I also ate GF for a year. And eating GF and IBS safe is quite a challenge, especially if you are C. The doc told me a GF diet can be sort of constipating in itself. And if you have IBS on top of it, you can't just go and eat lots of millet and amaranth because it's all pure IF. And most of the cereals and breads are low fiber and/or high in fat. It's so hard. It's the worst of both worlds, but I know Kandee has had luck finding a balance between the two diets. She still struggles with some symptoms, though.
