To be honest I don't know this doctor that well at all. In Australia (unlike when I lived in England) for the most part you don't have a 'Family doctor' as such and instead have medical centre's where it's pot luck who you get. I got the feeling that he was prescribing the Xanax as a last resort, not really having any other ideas. Having done some research last night I have decided not to proceed with this at present and have moved them to the bathroom cupboard (out of sight!). The possible side-effects are just way too much for me!! I am going to see a counsellor next week so hopefully can make some progress via a non-drug solution.
