But are you saying that if I start at 1 Tablespoon or so, and keep increasing, my body will learn to tolerate them and I won't hurt and get gas?
what do you eat/supplement with to be so stable? I'm a C too and not having much luck.
Hey, sorry I just saw this post and realized I never responded! I'd say start off with things like green beans and lima beans, not tons of them but maybe mixed in with other veggies(those big bags of mixed frozen veggies are good). See if you can eat them on a daily basis. Maybe later on try a tiny bit of hummus or fatfree refried beans. It took me a while to work my way into beans, so remember don't do it too fast!
To be as stable as I am now has taken awhile. What really helped was getting on a soluble fiber supplement that worked for me (Metamucil worked great, the others triggered symptoms), as well as cutting out whole grains (they're just too harsh for me, but some people tolerate them fine), and taking Colace. After many months I've able to become stable enough to stop the SFS and cut down on the Colace, I'm not "cured" or anything, but much better then before!
Hope you start doing better soon, remember to safetly and slowely add in insoluble fiber as long as you can tolerate it ok.
