Hi! I don't have diabetes myself, but my husband was diagnosed with it 6 months ago. We've found a decent amount of food that works for both of us, and a lot of the supplements (peppermint tea, acacia, fennel tea, etc.) either have no effect on blood sugar or work to lower it.

From what I've seen of my husband's testing, there might be some carbs that don't affect you too badly. You might try experimenting and seeing how they affect both your belly and your blood sugar. And he can even eat bread and potatoes if he exercises enough, and exercise will also help your IBS.

There's a "The First Year" book out about Type II Diabetes just like Heather's TFY book on IBS. You'll learn a lot if you read 'em both!
