Re: long-term use of nexium not safe       09/04/05 09:55 PM Edit Reply Quote chinagrl Reged: 12/18/03 Posts: 2439 I appreciate your saying this, though I have to say I have been on Prilosec, and then Nexium for ten years now. I absolutely have to take the pill every day or I will throw up anything I eat (I've tried acidophilus, actually for yeast infections, but it did not counter the acid). Since I had a 24 hr PH test with a catheter down my throat for 24 hours recording the acid levels, I can say that my acid reflux is way too much acid in my stomach. I think this is something a person and their doctor has to work out, but I would never want to scare someone away from a drug that is absolutely vital to my well being.
