Re: long-term use of nexium not safe       09/04/05 09:32 PM Edit Reply Quote Sidewalker Reged: 01/04/05 Posts: 105 long-term use of nexium or other ppi's can cause irreversible damage to the stomach and comprimise its ability to effectively digest food. there's a publication on it somewhere, but i can't remember the author. maybe try digestive enzymes and acidophilus as a safer alternative. contrary to popular belief, acid reflux is usually caused by too little acid in the stomach, not too much. just some food for thought Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
