Hi guys,

I may be repeating a question that has been answered. I have done a search but didnt find anything.

I love soy. I grew up on it, I eat it all the time and I'm constantly jealous when I read about the huge variety of soy products available in the US. It's much more limited in Australia.

Lately though I have had some people telling me that the research on Soy shows that it isn't all that good for you. A clinic nurse told me not to give it to my children and and my yoga teacher says she has read some disturbing things about it and that it's only good when prepared fresh each day as the japanese eat it.

Could someone please comment?

My 3 month old son kept getting D on regular formula and I switched him to Soy. Well he had an anaphylactic reaction to it, was red from head to toe and had to be shot with adrenaline. By the time I got him to the doctors he was struggling to breath. It was very scary. It has been through discussion of this with various health professionals as well as friends that I have been told that research has been showing that Soy may not be that good for you.

It turns out that it is not the soy itself that Will is allergic to but maybe something else that is in that particular formula. We are seeing a specialist now who is trying to pin it down.

I'm not asking whther soy is bad because of what happened with Will it's just that the topic has come up because I have discussed it with others since then.

What does everyone think?

Kerrie
