Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi everyone. I haven't been on for awhile because I was so sick. In the bathroom 15-25 times per day. Stopped eating all together. Started to dehydrate. Went to Doctor's finally. On month three of constant diarreah. Very depressing. Can't leave the house if I eat. Anyway, I want to thank all of you for your support. My Mother showed up yesterday and kidnapped me and took me to the Doctor. They took blood and stool samples. He gave me Bentyl to take. I do not have any kind of infection in my stomach so that is out. I have to have an Ultrasound on Friday and will find out results of tests for colitus, crohn's, thyroid problems etc. I am afraid to find out. I have gotten continually worse and lost at least 15 lbs. so far. If the Doctor doesn't find anything it will mean time for the scopes...........Oh well. I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Has anyone else ever had episodes lasting for months? Or do you all think this is something else?
