Welcome, Brenton. Our emotions and our intestines are all "tangled up" together and affect each other back and forth. Many of us have found anti-depressants have helped, but others have found they don't. I am discovering that it takes a while to try to find what will work for YOU, and it may not be what works for anybody else. Like Michelle, I am finding that I must rely more and more on my Christian faith to get me through this. I, too, didn't really have much support from people in my life until I found this site. Mostly my family just really didn't understand what was going on with me. I now feel much more comfortable discussing IBS with them, and educating them because I can back up what I say about it with research from this site and Heather's book, as well as from everybody's shared experience. We're all in this together. Hang in there! There are solutions.
