Brenton, I'm a little late replying but please don't let yourself get stuck believing this is "all in your mind". I too came through a LOT of stress over the past year and tried to ignore worsening symptoms for a long time because I just figured I'd "stressed myself into it", that somehow the anxiety I was feeling was responsible for my pain, and so I just worked harder and harder NOT to feel anxious or stressed, which of course only leaves you feeling guitly and helpless. When I started talking to people about my feelings that helped tremendously, and as a Christian I learned how to give my feelings of being pressured and overwhelmed over to the Lord little by little. But the fact of the matter was that I ALSO had some very real physical problems that accounted for what was going on, INCLUDING IBS, which is a very real biological, physical problem. So, be encouraged, stick around here - you will glean a lot of information and support. Sounds like the hypno tapes may be a good option for you. Good luck!
