Crystalline Fructose?

I saw this in an ingredient list for the first time yesterday. I'm still not sure exactly what it is, as it was in a beverage, so it had to be liquid...
Do those of you who avoid HFCS also avoid this? Does anyone know what it actually is, or if it's "safe"? I looked it up, and all I could find is that it definitely is a form of fructose, but it has a much lower glycemic index (compared to glucose, sucrose, or even HFCS). I know that's better health-wise, but does it help us any?
