Unfortunately, I am not able to take any of the anti-depressants. The SSRI type antidepressants give me MAJOR D attacks and the tricyclic type give me serious constipation. I just try to engage in activities that make me happy. I also have a great support system (husband and mother) who are there for me during really bad times. Mainly I just live with it. I am able to take Xanax, but that is more of an anti-anxiety, but at least it is something. You may be able to benefit from a tricyclic antidepressant like Elavil (I think you are IBS D right?). That will help with your depression AND diarrhea. It's worth looking into.
