It works by pulling water into your colon. Some peoples colons DO become dependant on it but I'd rather poop everyday and take Miralax than be miserable the rest of my life from extreme C! I've been on it for over 4 years now and it has greatly improved my quality of life. If I have to take it forever, I'm ok with that! -------------------- Taking it one day at a time.....
