Funny, the same thing happened to me. The day after I had my baby, I began to experience IBS symptoms (diarrhea, ab pain) and it just became worse over the next weeks and months. I went to every doc in town telling them that it HAD to be a hormonal connection, as hormones practically run your GI motility. They all thought it was just a coincidence but I don't think so. Pre-baby I could eat ANYTHING I wanted - gallons of ice cram, spicy burritos with everything on it, I went out for Italian dinners 3 times a week etc... Now, If I even stray a little from my "safe " foods, I am sick for a week. And it all happened the day after I had her. I finaly found a doc who took me seriously and told me that during pregnancy, all of your hormones shift, go into over drive or under drive. When you have the baby, your hormones attempt to fall back into place, but sometimes, it just does not happen that way and you are left with a dysfunctional body due to the hormonal shifts. He told me that there were sooo many hormones out there that pinpointing the exact one that caused the symtoms would be like finding a needle in a haystack. All you can do is hope that one day, they decide to go back to the way they were pre-pregnancy, but it's not very likely

Just an interesting side note.
