Hi guys - thought I'd update you on my first natropath (herbalist) appointment. It was SO nice to talk to someone who, instead of looking at me like a freak and telling me to get over myself, actually pre-empted what I was going to say! She understood completely, which nearly reduced me to tears (but thankfully I held it together!!).
We talked for about an hour or so about my family history, my medical history and about what symptoms I'm having now and after lots of writing (she did), she has put me on a herbal tea mix which I need to take regularly, has lemonbalm, nettle, vervain (which I'd never heard of but really helps the liver), ecinachia (sp?) and camomile, which is all about relaxing me and sorting out my liver.
She actually said to me that I was a mess (tum wise!), which I actually liked hearing instead of "oh eat more fibre and you'll be fine!!), so we are concentrating on my tum first, and my immune system, to help me start digesting properly then thats when we'll sort the diet out.
I'm also on a really high strength probiotic and prebiotic (FOS) and sucraguard, which helps regulate the blood sugar levels. I also have to have flax/linseeds with my cereal, which I grind up and sprinkle on - this should normalise the poop!! hehe
As you can probably tell, I'm pretty positive about all of this, it was just so nice to talk to someone who understood! It was quite expensive, but my health is definitely worth it and would recommend it to anyone who is at the end of their tether like I have been!
