Hey everyone! Hopefully someone can answer my question because I am completly stumped by this. I had been taking Metamucil for about 3 weeks (one heaping tablespoon once a day). I had great results for a week, but then almost exactly one week after I had started taking it, it stopped working! So I tried taking one heaping TB twice a day (once in the AM, once before bed). That didn't do me any good either.
So today I decided to try Citrucel. I took one of the scoops this AM and I'm debating on taking another tonight. So my question is this: Is it possible to become "immune" to certain fiber laxatives after taking them so long? I didn't think it was possible, but I'm searching for any answers! Also, I've read on this site that some fiber supplements work better for people over others. Is this true? I do bloat and get gas easily so I've been thinking that the Metamucil should be a big no-no for me.
Any comments are greatly appriciated! Thanks so much and have a great weekend!
