I drink alcohol sometimes too. Now I only drink it when I really want to and I am prepared to have cramps the next day. I don't drink beer or red wine anymore as they really hurt but I can drink some white wine, vodka, champagne or cocktails pretty OK. I don't drink nearly as often as I used to and only have a big drinking night very very rarely. I have one coming up this weekend though- a bachelorette party- really looking forward to it!
Alcohol is a really bad idea on an empty stomach and it definitely affects my tummy almost immediately with gas and slight D and it REALLY hurts the next day (regardless of whether I have one drink or ten)
I REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY ALCOHOL UNLESS YOU ARE VERY STABLE
