I don't have advice - very unusual for me! - but I wanted to let you know I read your post and I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering so. Please don't beat yourself up about eating French bread - it's not dumb, just human. Frustration is a b**ch.
As for what I do when I'm feeling yuck, I curl up in a corner of the couch with a cup of herbal tea and a good trashy novel and disappear the world for an hour or so.
