Hey folks -

I have IBS-C with hemmorhoids and am benefitting from a new herbal regime I've been doing for about 2 months. I believe that hemmorhoids can contribute to the cycle of IBS.

Per day I take:

Slippery Elm - 10 capsules in the morning with lots of water. A great source of fiber with mucilage. I find it calms and coats my stomach, adds bulk and makes softer stool.

Butcher's Broom - approx 6/day as needed (2 or 3 with each meal) - Help inflamation of hemorrhoids, strengthens vein walls thereby shrinks hemmorhoids.

Horse Chestnut - 1 or 2 a day. Natural vein toner. I find that this helps prevent hemmorhoids in the first place.

I also use an herbal hemmorhoids cream from PhytoCort. It contains the above 2 herbs plus others. I find it quite effective.
