I find it hard to believe that honey acts as a laxative - I have a love/hate relationship with it because of the flavour, so there are times I eat a lot and other times I don't touch it for a couple of weeks or more - I have never observed any effect on BMs at all. Honey is a good alternative to sugar because it contains trace minerals, as well as helping to provide some variety. I really think we all need to eat as wide a range of foods as possible and not cut things out unless we know they are hurting us - the list of things we really mustn't eat is long enough already!
