When I first started the diet I thought carrots were SF since they were on the list, but they have a lot of IF too and need to be cooked to be considered SF. Fortunately I seem to do fine with them but I still prefer to cook them to play it safe. Sometimes in summer I eat them raw if I am feeling really good. But it is something newbies need to be told- like I did! -------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages: "You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
