Eating for Hypothyroid

Okay, folks. I adjusted pretty well to eating for IBS, but after my thyroid diagnose, I feel depressed all over again. According to research, soy is not good for us, so it is necessary to substitute rice milk or other products for a lot of the soy that may originally been a substitute for dairy!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good brand of rice milk? (Please don't say rice dream...ick!) Also, any recommendations on rice "cheeses" or "butters" would be appreciated. I have enjoyed learning to use the IBS-friendly recipes, but now I have to figure out how to modify them for my own condition! Jeez!

Thanks again to Kandee for her recommendations! I've picked up Mary Shomon's book and hope to read it this weekend, but any "quick starts" or tips that anyone has will be much, much appreciated by my...just in case it's slow going through the book and I have to grocery shop first!
