I was seeing a GI doctor for IBS when he diagnosed "lazy colon" and send me to an endocrinologist (on the basis of some bloodwork he took). The endocrinologist said constipation is indeed a symptom of thyroid problems. We're not sure if the synthroid he gave me will help with the constipation, but I'm hoping to stop feeling so tired and be able to exercise so that I can maybe get my "lazy colon" moving!
