Hi. I am new to this board and I have a question. I have just been recently diagnosed with IBS but have suffered since I was a teen and am now 47. You know the story. I just got your the first year book, so far it sounds helpful

I really have to give up coffee? ugh

anyway, my question is that I have also been diagnosed with under active thyroid in the last year too and am on Synthroid, how does this effect IBS?

I have tried all kinds of meds for anxiety/panic attacks also and it has only made IBS worse. However I just switched docs and he has me on Effexor for anxiety and it does not give me the diarrhea. Any info on this?
