HELLO EVERYONE: i AM BACK FROM NARAMATA and everything went fairly? well. The trip on the way down was a bit dicy as when you sit for 6 hours on a bus, your food doesn't have much chance to digest very well and so it just sort of sits there. Meals on the way down left much to be desired. I ate as much before as I could, and took my rice poorridge and bagels with me as carry on luggage. Luch consisted of a dry,I mean DRY BAGEL with nothing on it and nothing to wash it down with. This happened because I missed my lunch stop. We only had a 10 minute stop for lunch and I wasn't sure if I had time to buy anything or not at that time. TWO hours later we had another 10 min. stop at which time I DID finally get some water to help settle my stomach a bit. How do you spell releif? WATER! anyway, with things being as they were I didn't know if my stomach wass full or empty or what! By the time we finally got to Naramata, it was past suppertime and I was really hungry. My family was with me and were fairly starving as well. Supper was a delicious chickden dinner which thankfully not only stayed with me but actually filled me up. I should say here, that my family(sister and hubby), were very supportive in that they let me have my porridge in the morning before going to breakfast. The porridge is a really base meal for me to start the day off with and helps to stabilize me. I did take supplements with me but lost them somewhere along the line. I could have used them on the occasional bad days. The kitchen staff at Naramata was truly accomadating towards people with allergies and such. Soon after we arrived there, ( a day or so), I put myself on the vegan diet which really help keep me from eating hr wrong things. And, of course, i ALWAYS HAD A bagel with me to start off on the right foot. There was only one really bad day when I had what could be considered ibs safe pancakes,ie; no wheat dairy or sugar. i just can't seem to be able to handle any kind of pancakes. Gas galore and a glass of water and it went right through me. I really could hsve used my supplements then, boy! I decided then to completely swear off pancakes for good! Aside from that with my porridge and bagels to keep me stable the week went pretty good with a small upset here and there. On those days I ate bagel until they came out of my ears. as luck would have it, the small store in the center carried bagels so I was able to keep stocked up on them. One day I was pleasantly surprised to find thar my vegan lunch one day was a delicious french bread pizza, with soy cheese. AS i SAID BEFORE , Naramata was very accomadating, I mean they had everything there.
