Re: Why do so many of us take anti-depressants?       01/24/05 06:41 PM Edit Reply Quote 9804 Reged: 01/05/05 Posts: 217 my dr. put me on effexor and indicated it was NOT for depression. the study he found was that these drugs sometimes help relieve the anxiety (tightness/spasms) that seem to occur when you have IBS.
