Re: Antibiotics       12/20/04 08:36 AM Edit Reply Quote Lefty1 Reged: 08/09/04 Posts: 157 My husband has a very tough time with antibiotics (nausea). Pre-IBS we always thought he was allergic. Post IBS because of all the info on these boards I started to question if he was really allergic or is the nausea while on antibiotics due to a sensitive IBS gut? We have told the GP that he cannot tolerate (at all) certain antibiotics and he has been careful to give meds that might not be as irritating in the past. For the future I looked into him taking a probiotic at the same that he might have to be on an antibiotic to help maintain gut flora. To see if it would make a difference. My brother-in-law who is a Dr. says yes it could and he confirmed with his nutritionist. But, we just figured this out and have not tried ourselves to see if it makes a difference. Good luck, Lefty P.S. My husband has a toe nail that has turned yellow and he keeps "forgetting to mention" this to the Dr. - he does not want to go on an antibiotic.
