I just wanted to put a quick post to tell you all that I am going to be in the hospital probably for about 8 weeks. The baby and I are fine, but I have a condition called Placenta Previa which means that the placenta is covering the cervix. In a worse case scenario, it can cause severe bleeding and premature labor. So, they are keeping me in the hospital under strict bedrest orders. By doing this, I have an excellent chance of carring this baby to full term (about 36 weeks) which is about 8 weeks from now. Then I will have a c-section delivery.
My heart is broken for missing my son, Liam (22 months) at home. However, God has blessed us all. My husband had this week off (a miracle in itself), he will now be working close enough to home that he can be home every night and on weekends, and both of our Mothers live in town and will look after Liam while John is working. Everything just seemed to fall into place when this happened, and I keep trying to focus on all our family blessings.
Furthermore, I am fine, the baby is perfectly healthy and growing normally, so there is much to be thankful for.
On a side note, it's been interesting explaning my IBS diet to the nurses who are in charge of my food. Mostly, I have seen a lot of support and even some understanding (like, oh, yeah, red meat is high fat - a trigger, right?)
I wanted you all to know this because I may not be posting quite as much (who knows - with boredom you may see me posting all the time!). I just didn't want anyone to be offended if I don't respond to posts. Heather is aware of the situation and I will keep y'all posted.
