Allergies and intolerances can develop at any age - it's possible that's what's happening to you. It could also be just one of those things you can't eat now, that you'll be able to eat again once you're more stable. For a while, I couldn't even eat baked goods that contained egg, much less sit down and eat actual cooked egg whites... a few months later, I can eat all of it again.
