Would like some input

I've been fighting with what I would consider stress/anxiety induced "nervous stomach". My Aunt has severe IBS and my Mom and sister have moderate IBS symptoms.

I've been, in the past, put on Paxil, prilosec etc etc which were somewhat helpful with the anxiety but nothing ever really helped my stomach. Recently I've been put under a lot of stress and was put on some Asthma medication that made my stomach a lot worse.

Normally my symptoms would be in the evening with some gas/bloating followe by nausea. When I feel naseous then I tend to get more anxious because I don't want to throw up. About a month ago when I started the new asthma medication I am having heartburn, nausea, constipation and have woken at night to severe gas followed by dirreah though that was just once.

I don't have the "classic" symptoms of IBS but I think that my "nervous stomach" is very close to that of IBS and can be treated in the same fashion. I rarely have dirreah unless I drink coffee on an empty stomach and I don't normally deal with bad gas or cramps as are so typical with IBS. DR's have ruled out all other problems.

Anyway I was just wonder if any of you have similar symptoms to mine and if the Eating For IBS diet has been helping you out.

Sorry about the long post, thanks for your time.

Shannon
