Re: Thanks, but I'm having trouble with the idea of....       06/19/03 01:25 PM Edit Reply Quote michele Reged: 06/02/03 Posts: 6886 Loc: southeastern michigan I understand its difficult to change, especially with kids but if "regular" food makes you feel bad....I am visiting my inlaws over the 4th of july holiday-for 5 days! I am nervous because, like your family they like to eat(and eat and eat very fatty and greasy foods) and its typically a big event. I have decided I am going to make up "safe" meals and put them in tupperware to take with me. I am afraid of offending them but I will just explain to them that I can no longer eat the way I used to because it was making me sick. It may cause a little tension but its more important that I feel and stay well. When it comes time to eat I plan on sticking my tupperware in the microwave and sitting down to dinner with eveyone else likes its no big deal. It is frustrating and embarrassing but what can we do about it? I refuse to eat things I know will make me sick no matter how mad or offended they will be. I'm hoping if I don't make a big deal about it they won't either. Luckily my husband argrees with me and it was actually his idea about making my meals in advance, that way his family doesn't have to worry about what they can/can't feed me! It is a pain in the butt to go to more than 1 grocery store but if thats what it takes to get me feeling better, I am willing to do it.
