Hi everyone,

I had quite a long discussion with my yoga teacher last night. She gave me a few suggestions which I thought I would pass on in case anyone was interested.

1. Have your last drink of water 15mins before your meal as water dilutes the stomach acid thereby hindering digestion.
2. Try not to drink for at least 1/2hr after food for the same reason. (main meals)
3. Before eating sit calmly and take 3 dep breaths right into the navel.
4. Close your eyes and visualise the food as your medicine and something that is going to help you greatly rather than worrying about its effect.
5. Eat without any distraction. (Yes that includes TV!)
6. Don't eat when you are feeling emotional/upset.

She also gave me some ideas on helpful yoga postures and the gastric breath which I will post later on the yoga board.
