I know hfcs is a huge no no - there is a difference between just corn syrup and hfcs?? Does anyone know what the difference actually is?????

There is a Jolly Rancher lolli with my daughter's name on it, lol and the 1st ingredient is corn syrup - i know it is not the healthiest thing in the world but she got it for Halloween and I took away all of the chocolate so I have to give her something! I just want to know what I am looking at. BTW - are questions like this (i.e. ingredient names and what to look out for) in Heather's book? I am hoping that my library has it so I can take a look at it before I purchase it.

Thanks everyone! You have all been soooo helpful so far - I just started a binder book last night with a bunch of info from this group that I have printed, along with ibs safe recipes so I always have them on hand! I was about to make the Rice Krispie Treats and I read on the board that some Rice Krispies actually have hfcs in them and lo and behold my box does! I didn't even think to check the cereal box because that cereal is so plain to begin with! uuggghhh! So I am off to Trader Joes tomorrow but in the meantime I promised my daughter a snack so I am going to make that peppermint cake that everyone raves about. Wish me luck!

Karen
