Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Re: Is anyone taking anti-spasmodics or Zelnorm?

I'm taking Zelnorm, 1mg.--one in the morning when I get up and one at night when I go to bed. I have been on it for 2 years straight now. I know they all say it's for short term use, but I've talked to my gastro Dr. and another Dr. about it and they assure me it's ok to use like this. And, I have read that it can be used longer according to your dr. I also use Nulev when needed. I absolutely LOVE Nulev. I think it's a miracle drug---for me anyway. I only take it if I feel an "attack" coming on--which isn't that often, thanks to Heather's Diet---and it seems to work within minutes for me. I even took 2 within a minute or two of each other once, because I was feeling a bad attack coming on and I was out shopping. Took care of it right away. I have never noticed any side affects from Nulev. There has been a lot of other posts concerning Zelnorm and Nulev. Just go to Search and type those words in. And, like Ruthie says, everyone is different and can be affected differently by the same medicine. You really just need to give something a try for yourself and see how it's going to work with your body. And, you should try to use something for a couple weeks to see the affects.
