After all that worrying about the colonscopy, all I remember is the nurse saying, "Roll over on your side." She gave me a "cocktail" in my IV, and the next thing I remember I was in a different room---the recovery room and it was all over with! They weren't kidding when they said I wouldn't remember anything.
The doctor just called to say the lining of my colon looked ok and that I didn't have any polyps. He said he saw some diverticula (not sure I've got this right) on the wall of the colon, but he said this is normal for someone my age and this shouldn't be causing my problems. It did say he biopsied it just to make sure (I was a little groggy when he called!) and that my colon was resting on something on my left side. He said it was probably just my ovaries, but he wants to do a CAT scan of my abdomen next week just to make sure it's nothing. This made me panic, because I'm thinking doesn't every woman have ovaries next to her colon???? Something else for me to worry about. Hopefully, I will know more next week. He sounded upbeat, and said he still thinks my problems stem from IBS, but he just wants to rule anything else out.
