This used to happen to me ALL the time, Sandy! Luckily I've taught myself to calm down since then and don't experience much of this anymore.

However, I'd recommend checking out the hypnosis CDs in the store on this site. They've worked wonders for others here and were created just to help IBSers with situations like yours.
