Arrgh! I get so frustrated sometimes! I just want to scream at all the people who bash carbs. I don't even like the word carbs anymore - it's been to misused and misunderstood. I read an article in a magazine that I usually respect. Although the general idea of the article was that the no carb thing is a BAD idea, they had advice in there including "good carbs and bad carbs" which really made my blood boil. I their defense, they were going by the glycemic index, which I suppose for most people is logical, but they actually said that white bread and potatoes have NO fiber and you should not eat them. How delusional and just plain wrong! They obviously don't know the meaning of the words soluble fiber. To top it all off, they proceeded to say that people with IBS should have a high fiber diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Since they totally dismissed soluble fiber I can only assume they were referring to insoluble fiber.
Usually, I am a happy gal. It's just that when you give stupidity to an Irish temper, there's going to be a clash. Forgive me, I had to vent.
