Hi. I'm not sure how to post a request for information, and I apologize for just jumping right in here. I am new to the site. I have an 8 year old boy who has been kind of miserable lately with abdominal pain, nausea, and joint pain. This all seems to come in waves, but seems to be worse an hour or two after eating a meal. His appetite is fine -- he eats well, but is pretty thin. He is usually very active, but tires easily lately and NEVER fights me to go to bed anymore, which is not like him. He has dark circles under his eyes and is often very pale. And then you turn around, and he looks great and ready for action.
He has been seen by his pediatrician who is hesitant to do invasive testing, but we did rule out parasites. I have made an appointment with a pediatric gastroenterologist. My brother has Crohn's disease. I know my 8 yr. old is young for that, and does not seem to have all the classic symptoms.
I'm wondering if these symptoms sound familiar to anyone with IBS. Is joint pain common with IBS? I would so appreciate a response. Thank you!
