I wonder if there is a link between the two? I know that people with a lipase deficiency have trouble metaboizing fats and so they pass thru their system in diahhrea--just like it does for those of us with IBS-D. Is it possible that at least some of us with IBS-D have a lipase deficiency?

I know that the drug Xenical (prescrip) is designed to help ppl lose weight by mimicking the effects of IBS...the drug makes their bodies so they cannot metabolize fats.
