So not crohns...only IBS
      12/22/06 06:12 PM

Hi Luanne. No not too much info. Sometimes it helps when someone explains what is happening. This way someone might say "gee, this is happening to me" when they don't know why. Have they ruled out Colitis? Myself, I started out with IBS, but over the last 5-6 yrs I have developed proctitis , a form of ulcerative colitis only at the bottom end of my colon. But they did tell me that IBS does not turn into anything else such as crohns or colitis. So I deal with both IBS/D/proctitis.I too bleed when I have a BM, and most times heavy bleeding, like clots, without a bm. It is so frustrating most times, especially when I am out somewhere. I have meds I take everyday for proctitis and continue to follow Heather's eating for IBS. I find I can function better with this diet. At least your Dr. has ruled out crohn's. The bleeding could be caused by your fistual,or anywhere along your colon. Is the bleeding heavy, like clots or light in colour (hoping not asking too much info)? Is it everytime or only when you have BM's? Are you in pain all the time when you have a BM? Enough ?'s for now. Take care. And will talk to u later. Have a good Christmas. Sue
