Arthritis and eye inflammation

I was diagnosed with serum negative ra. That means that although my blood work was negative for the rheumatoid arthritis anti-body they still believed I had it because I have a lot of the classic symptoms.

I'll try not to write a book here but the general overview is that I've had IBS with constipation since I was 16. Colonoscopy and laparoscopic surgery at 18 confirmed nothing more "serious."

In September 2004 had a barium swallow with follow through and abdominal cat scan and upper gi and everything ok, other than a little reflux.

Other than the basic tummy pains, I was healthy and took miralax daily to help the C.

A few years ago, I wanted to start a family. Ended up with several unexplained miscarriages. Went to reproductive endocrinologist for full work-up, everything "girly" is fine. Went on high dose hormone therapy and daily fertility shots.

The fertility shots were last summer. During which, my hands and feet swelled and I started having general aches and pains and was tired and just not well. Told not to worry, just the hormones. Got pregnant with twins last September. Things really swelled up but told it was because I was pregnant.

At the same time, my eyes turned red and hurt like hell. Ophthalmologist said it was uveitis and gave me steroid eye drops. Every couple weeks when I tried to stop the eyes drop, my eyes would flare up again.

I saw a rheumy while I was pregnant last November and he said fibro, come back after the baby.

I lost the twins in December, again unexplained as they were healthy identical girls.

Right after I lost the twins, my whole body flared. My hands looked like club feet and you couldn't even count my toes they were so swollen. I hurt all over and felt like crap. Went back to rheumy told was just depressed. Uh, well YES, I AM depressed, I just lost my 4 and 5th babies but there is something wrong with me!!!

After a few more visits and x-rays he diagnosed the serum negative ra. Stared me on placquenil in January. A couple of months went by with no improvement. Eyes continued to flare and need steroid eye drops.

I than started having chest pains, diagnosed as costochondritis-common in ra people. Tried alsulfadine and it made me sick, had to stop after a week. I than started having terrible D. Obviously stopped the daily miralax. Started on Enbrel injections in May and Imuran the end of may.

My cornea's are warping from all the steroid eye drops. I started throwing up blood and pooping blood. Told it was gastritis. I felt sick and horrible all the time, very nausous and was throwing up many times a` day. Stopped the Imurn a few weeks ago and the nauseous is a lot less and only occasionally throw up now.

My hemoglobin has dropped and now I have a chronic terrible headache, migraine at times. Very tired and weak. My rheumy called last week and said she doesn't think its ra but crohn's.

My boss happens to be friends with a crohn's specialist and he took the time to call me last week and after talking to him for a few minutes he said he agreed. I have an appt with him on Wednesday. I'm still having lots of d, sometimes 3-4 times a day others 15 times a day. I've never heard of anyone else though having all the arthritis symptoms and eye problems although the crohns doc said yes, it can cause those symptoms.

Has anyone ever heard or known of anyone to have the arthritis symptoms so bad? My last x-rays done last month showed bone erosion's in my fingers, toes and knees.

Since started steroids about 3 months ago, I've actually lost about 16 pounds. Now, I need to lose the weight but steroids make you gain not lose. I stopped the enbrel injections almost a month ago and they are taking about either humira or remicaid to be started in the next week or two.

Does this sound like crohns to you guys???

Taking it one day at a time.....
