Hi,
I am new to the boards and was only recently diagnosed with IBS-D. This website has been a lifesaver when it comes to meal planning!! I thought I would post what I know about the shelf life of the product in question because I specialized in Food Safety in University and worked with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency( sort of the USFDA equivalent in Canada )here in Newfoundland, Canada. The best before date is used by the company to give customers a guide when they are in the store buying the product. If it is past the best before date in the store, leave it there! It can also give you an idea of how fresh the stock is in the store. The further away the best before date is, the fresher the stock. Anyway, you should have no problem in keeping it within the recommended 10 days in the fridge or a little longer. I do not believe soy is as a high risk product for spoilage than dairy milk.

I am also getting used to all of the new soy products I never noticed before!! Looking forward to continued improvement in my symptoms, good luck with yours !!
