What I typically do still involves using the stove, but here's my tips anyway...

Cook up a pot of pasta at night. Like, not too long before you're going to bed. It makes sense to do anything heat-producing when it's cooler anyway, but doing it at night means that you'll have all night for the heat to dissipate.

Anyway, drain and rinse the pasta, stick it in the fridge. The next day, it's ready to go to make pasta salad. And there are oodles of safe pasta salad recipes on here, most of which don't require any additional cooking for the other ingredients. My favorite is RachelT's Almond Chicken Salad (do a search) - it does require cooked chicken, but you can pick up one of those rotisserie birds at the deli and spare yourself the oven work!
