I'm 19, and going to Grandma's for T-giving... b/c I have IBS, and my relatives don't understand, I have to bring 3 dishes. I can cook and bake extremely well-- I just need some IBS safe recipes that not only I will enjoy, but that others can as well. I'm sensitive to baked goods with basically any fat (not fun) and ones high in sugar. As for other intolerances: *any oil (canola, etc.) upsets me, as does regular butter *red meats and chicken are a no--it seems that I can only tolerate fish *vegetables: broccoli is awesome, but makes me bloat up like a balloon (ha ha), corn is a no, as are tomatoes *fruits: I can do fruits! Just not apples (they must be extremely high in fructose), or pineapple-- I think the others are okay. Pears work great, as do kiwi, and I'm trying papaya tonight *I am also really sensitive to dairy products (but I'm okay if I use skim milk sparingly--for cereal and in mashed potatoes) and hard chocolate
Basically I have the worst case of IBS ever... and it's so much fun I can barely stand it!! (riiight) Thanks for anyone who has ANY ideas what-so-ever... even if they kind of match some of the descriptions, I'd appreciate any feedback... I can deal with being a little uncomfortable.
THANKS!
